Below are links to student and instructional materials for a comprehensive cross-cultural study unit using three versions Cinderella. The Islamic Tale , The Orphan - A Cinderella Story from Greece, and an English one First linked to below on the button is PowerPoint that is good for teaching through the whole book. The PowerPoint has the book divided into 5 parts and has the students fill out a grid and a venn diagram to compare and contrast aspects of the story through each part. As you click through the PowerPoint answers and prompts for students are revealed. Linked to below are the correlating student work papers to the PowerPoint, consisting of grids and venn diagrams and specific prompts. The PowerPoint allows for the teacher to show things the students can write as need be. Some things to note:
In the student work files each page for a specific part is its own file. So you will have to download "Cinderella Student Work Part 1 VD 1" and "Cinderella Student Work Part 1 VD 2" etc. separately and print them separately and put them together in a packet. Also, on the PowerPoint the English version I used was text that was a little older and shorter than the English one linked to on Amazon above, though the patterns and descriptions are all very much the same. But there may be some parts on the PowerPoint where the English text is quoted directly that may need to be modified depending on the version you use, but the Greek and Islamic texts are exactly the same as what the PowerPoint is made for.
