Instructional Grammar Materials
Foundational grammar instruction is essential for ESL students' refinement of their language usage and necessary in order to progress it from the Basic Interpersonal Communication realm into the Academic Language realm.
Unfortunately, it is often the case in school that grammar instruction is put to the side for ESL students under the pressures of teaching content. ESL students need explicit instruction in both grammar and content with the two intertwined. |

Below are visually engaging videos and instructional presentations that include learning activities that I have made to ensure that ESL students are able to have a solid footing in understanding functional grammar and sentence structure that can thereafter be applied to rigorous dissecting of content texts.
The videos are accessible to students from anywhere they have an internet connection and can be followed up by taking online assessments through a variety of virtual platforms. The presentations are not only instruct the grammar concepts, but their use of transitions and animations actually make the presentation interactive with the presentee. Therefore, students not only learn the grammar concepts, but they partake in guided and independent practice with it during the instruction. (note: the presentations are embedded below as view only, to see the animations at work the presentations need to be downloaded and viewed on PowerPoint software on a personal computer.)
The expansion of these materials is an ongoing project for me. I intend to create a bank of a 40 cumulative lessons and videos with accompanying digital quizzes that will be available online.
